Back from my holidays.

Had a gala time trekking in the hills, lakes and forests of Kumaon.

During my travels, I was stuck by the complete disinterest of people in stocks or the stock market.

Feel 99.5% of the Indian population would not give a care or would not even be affected if the stock markets shut down for good !

Meanwhile, we toil on….

Wanted to thank all the readers for their warm wishes on Alpha Ideas turning one.

Some readers thanked me for sharing information etc.I want to respond by sharing (!) a beautiful Zen Story...possibly the most famous.

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor’s cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. “It is overfull. No more will go in!”

“Like this cup,” Nan-in said, “you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?”

This blog is my attempt to empty my own opinions and speculations so that I can be a better investor !

I know the times are a  changin’ but I never thought that one day I would get a wedding invite in the form of a Youtube video !
