Raoji, I was a beneficiary of the 2013 scheme (90% deposit financed by SBI at an overseas branch)
However, my search has not confirmed if leveraging is permitted this time (two notifications thus far by RBI, neither confirming permission to Indian banks abroad to provide loans for FCNR deposits). Bloomberg report is behind a paywall. Would someone elucidate?

I think its allowed
LTCM collapsed by using such methods. But, here, we can be confident GOI won’t default !!!!?

You can check with your banker for documentation
