Same cycle, different players!
Anyone remembers East West Airlines? the pioneer of private airline industry in the 1990s? Jet was propped up at that time, killed EWA. We saw Kingfisher, Indigo rise in last 2 decades, took out many other small ones. Kingfisher sank, now Jet sinks, next will be Indigo.
So, whether you are govt owned (AI, IA in India, or some of the airlines in the gulf like GulfAir) or private (Jet, KF, Etihad etc) – looks like the operational plan does not match the business plan!
