the value of these slots alone will be more than enough to re-capitalize the airline and clear all debts
This is called ‘strategic valuation’ of a company.
Alas, the GoI never understood the game of running a business profitably or even the ‘valuation’ game of a company. It is like this that an FMCG company is ‘valued’ very handsomely if its products are available through a very large number of retailers/micro retailers and dealers and distributors – the so called customer touch-points. That’s why all the MNC FMCG companies command such a huge premium in the market, be it, HUL, Nestle, Britannia, Gillette, RB and even home grown like Marico and Dabur, etc.
