India’s Inflation does not pass the smell test

Find the inflation numbers absurdly low…certainly not my experience.

I think the problem lies in the ‘composition’ of the Index and the ‘weights’ assigned to each component of the Index.
We all literate and financially savvy persons would have absolutely different ‘composition’ of our expenses and the ‘weights’ would also be different.
And therefore, we will never experience the same CPI effect.
CPI/WPI is basically a basket of consumption items which a typical Indian family is supposed to consume/spend.
Your case and my case would be entirely different than the ‘weights’ and ‘composition’ of CPI/WPI.
