IMHO, another idiotic statement by a pompous anglophile. He must also be thanking our erstwhile rulers for giving us Indian Railways which, if nothing else, provided lots of space for Indians to do it more conveniently!
Instead of being ashamed of fellow Indians who do it in the open, I’m actually ashamed that V.S. Naipaul was an Indian.
@LuckyOye, Yeah. Let’s close our eyes and pretend “aal eez well”. VS Naipaul only told the truth. It’s not his fault that the truth was/is ugly. Is it the fault of erstwhile colonialists that our country’s sanitation standards haven’t improved even after about 70 years of self rule?
