Site Review:Fundoo Professor

This post is in continuation of my site review series (see here).

Fundoo Professor is a blog written by well known investor Sanjay Bakshi

Sanjay teaches at MDI Gurgaon , which probably explains the name of his blog.

Sanjay is committed to the Munger/Buffett investing school and the blog reflects that.

Some of his posts are excellent and worth rereading again and again. Some of the posts that fall into that category are Vantage Point,Flirting with Floats etc

He has simplified his style of writing-using folksy humor, pictures etc.Sometimes he discusses his stock picks. For example, he is a big believer in Ajay Piramal and Piramal Enterprises.

Would recommend this blog to readers who have a value investing bent of mind.

Site Review:Report Junction

This is continuation of my Site Review Series (see here)

Unlike other sites that I have reviewed, Report Junction is a paid site.

Like the name suggests, the site stocks annual reports of various Indian companies.

Most Indian companies have an “Investor” section on the website which lists annual reports over the last few years. But for a dedicated researcher who wants the last 10/15 years of annual reports, this facility is inadequate.

This is where Report Junction steps in.You can search for a company’s annual report by year and even have a free preview of it.

I have bought annual reports on the site myself and found it to be a fast and hassle free experience.

The charges are fairly reasonable ranging from 99 Rs for 1 annual report to 2500 Rs for 100 annual reports.

Site Review: OneMint

This post is in continuation with my site review series (see here, here and here).

OneMint is a site that covers topics of both the capital markets and personal finance.

It is updated fairly regularly and makes for an interesting read.

The posts cover a gamut of topics -from promoters pledging of shares to difference in mutual fund returns on various web sites etc

The author also informs about happenings on the personal finance front-launch of the Goldman Sachs Mutual fund, banks offering high interest rates etc

The writing style is fairly simple and easy to read. This ensures that the reader is not put off by heavy jargon.

Site Review:Gaurav Blog

As part of my site review series (see here and here), today I take a look at Gaurav blog.

Gaurav Parikh is a veteran of the markets and is a financial adviser. He also teaches at BSE and is invited to speak on investing all over India.

This blog is a personal blog and he writes about various issues under the sun.

The writing style is informal, personal and candid.

Sometimes he posts about his investing ideas which can be profitable to readers of the blog.I am reminded of Ben Graham’s lectures wherein his students used to buy stocks which Ben referenced in his lectures !

Another useful aspect of the blog is the market gossip/talk that Gaurav sometimes posts.Gives a good idea about what other market participants are thinking.

Site Review:Track Stocks Smartly

The Indian financial blogsphere  is getting interesting with quite a few interesting blogs and sites out there.

One interesting site is Track Stocks Smartly. What this site does is collect data from NSE and BSE and posts it here in a very user friendly format.

Anyone using the NSE site knows what a pain in the neck it is to download their zip files, unzip it and then extract the relevant information.

This site is great for tracking bulk deals, insider trades, announcements and corporate actions.
