Why I love Pride of Cows

A few months back I noticed a funny thing-whenever I made tea, there were a few specks of oil floating on the surface.

I couldn’t fathom where the oil came from.So I ignored it.

Then an incident happened. My wife had kept a vessel of boiled milk in the fridge. We went out of town and when we returned a few days later, we found that the milk had turned yellow with a thick layer of oil on top.

It was obvious that the milk we were consuming was adulterated. We changed our suppliers, our brands etc but to no avail. This article by Menaka Gandhi makes it clear of how common milk adulteration in India is.

We were at our wits end on what to do next.Fortunately, we found Pride of Cows, an initiative of Devendra Shah, owner of Parag Foods Pvt. Ltd.

The milk supplied is SUPERB comparable to the best overseas. It is pricey-more than double the cost of regular milk, but it’s worth it especially if you have children in the house.

This milk is so fresh and great that once you start having it you can’t go back to your normal brand.Would STRONGLY recommend my readers to try this.

The only problem is the availability , its mostly available in metro cities . Adulteration has reached heights & has to be dealt seriously , it is consumed daily & in large amounts but the government is doing nothing to prevent adulteration .Moreover its good of you that you are taking the initiative & trying to educate users . Its good to see a post from you đŸ™‚

If u living in Mumbai, try Parsi Dairy or Kesar Ganga – Kutch agro dairy. Same quality of pride of cows (i wud say better as Pride of cows is homogenous milk and parsi dairy / kesar ganga is raw milk).
i hv personally tried all three .

I always make it a point to visit Parsi Diary when traveling in Gujarat. They have an outlet in Dadar and will certainly try that also !

I use Pride of Cows in Pune, its awesome, planning to stop by their farm in Mancher, next time i drive to BhimaShankar.

The milk is awesome, i have tweeted about it sometime back with no lack of enthusiasm, these guys need some good social PR.

As per our knowledge “Pride of cows ‘ farms have Holstein type of cows which gives A1 type milk .Which is harmful on prolonged consumption . While milk from desi cows is A2 type which is good for consumption . milk from foreign breed cows even though it is organic is not a good option to recommend,we feel.
Please check by your self.
Take care N stay healthy

Cow milk is 85 % water and 15% is SNF (solid non-fat) which contains sugar lactose, protein, fat and minerals. Each cow carries two copies of the gene encoding beta- casein with a type of A1/A2, A1/A1 and A2/A2. Holstein Friesian cows usually carry A 1 and A 2 alleles in equal proportion.

There are very few brands in India especially Mumbai which delivers Farm to house milk and POC is one of them. A farm to house concept that we had almost forgotten because of our daily busy life. Thanks POC for taking us to the old memories of drinking milk hours within milking.

Can anyone give any proof on problem with Holstein cow’s milk. In the USA and European countries 100% milk comes from these cows. In India can you really find a desi cow, cow’s available today are all mixed breeds as no one bothered to keep records of breeding. So stop claiming for A1 or A2 milk. The biggest issue with milk today in India is raw milk quality. Check the bacterial count in the milk at the doors of a dairy farm and then compare it at reaching the packaging machine. You will find count in limits at the farm, but by the time milk reaches the packing machines the count is 10 to 50 times higher than acceptable range.I would rather drink POC which controls the bacterial count with cold chain, where as other brands only claim

I have been a pride of cows milk user for several years now. The quality of service and also the milk is outstanding.
