With introduction of dynamic fares in most of the trains, premium tatkal charges, ever increasing railway fares and other such nonsense features have made railway travel costlier in terms of time and even monetarily. In most of the sectors, if you can book around 20 to 30 days in advance, air fare would be less or equal than 2nd AC train fare, leave aside tatkal, premium tatkal and dynamic fares in railways.
