How are these coupons distributed? Based on the number of shares held? Or based on the length of ownership?
It has to be based upon number of shares held on the relevant record date, because all equity shareholders’ rights rank ‘pari passu’ and there cannot be any distinction based upon length of ownership.
Such distinction may even be violative of the Companies Act also (?).
Same with EIH Ltd. and most textile companies
Bata India Ltd also issue two numbers ( 20%) discount coupons to their shareholders.
do we have enroll for such issuance of discount coupons once we own certain shares of INDHOTEL, and are there any no.of shares (minimum) to be eligible for getting discounts.
