“Detecting accounting fraud in Asia” is an excellent article I have ever read on this blog. Indian promoters are smart enough to have a mixture of east & west mal –practices. During the past year I found few cos. which have been writing off there accruals. ….Every company in India is crooked until proved otherwise & gullible investor is not able to do forensic audit; but according to me except the shell /defunct cos. they are getting themselves prepared for the “next financials manipulation cycle!!!”…….After all, the promoter also has a vested interest in the stock price. The ride for him and the investor ought to be over the same time horizons……Remember that company owners and managers with stock have a huge interest in the stock price…..If one has enough skill/judgement to align oneself with them; one could hit jackpots !!!……Ofcourse diversification is a must to offset the losses from disproportionate value traps……..Am I wrong?
